Wrapping Up Remaining With Ruth
thoughts on the power of revisiting familiar things
Deciding to ‘remain with Ruth’ this month has been more edifying and satisfying that I could have imagined. Yes, I have studied her, and Naomi, and Boaz. Yes, I have contemplated different aspects of this story with regard to time, place, history and theological depth. But deciding to look at her story with fresh eyes and heart desiring to see what more the Lord wanted me to reveal was transformative for my heart.
“I can’t believe I didn’t make that connection before!” was a common thread running through my mind this month. I’m so grateful for the gift of dwelling, and pondering, and revisiting familiar things in our life with eyes ready to see what more the Lord has for us.
If you missed the series, or want to revisit it yourself, here are the essays from this series.
